This is the little Ace Simple series Extra 230 aerobatic plane.  It has
foam wings and a built-up balsa fuselage and tail surfaces.  I was using
the Hornet .09 engine but it was too heavy and didn't have enough power
to fly this bird.  With the MDS .18 it goes straight up and with enough practice
I think I can get it to hover since I added a rudder.

I put a servo on each aileron for better control because the plans show
one servo in the middle of the wing using bent control rods out to the
aileron.  I also put the rudder and elevator servos in the tail just below the
horizontal stab to counter-balance the weight of the engine, and the battery
is just behind the canopy.  I used a 2 oz. tank and it flies for about 15 minutes
at full throttle.  I must say that the landing gear are pretty much useless on a
grass field because as soon as you touch down the plane flips over on it's nose.
Perhaps larger foam wheels would remedy this problem.

** Update **
I have since taken off the landing gear, and added wing support struts because when
you come out of a dive you could see the wings arcing upwards.  I just used 4-40 pushrods
from the middle of the wing that attach to the old landing gear bolts.  It took about 30 minutes
and makes the plane fly 100% better.  More pictures soon...
