Combat Models F-15 pusher-prop jet. O.S. .46FX engine, 12x6 pusher prop, JR 8103 Radio.

It's not done yet, but you can see here that I've got the servos installed,
the fuel tank and nose gear mounted, and aileron linkage done.

This is the belly pan that I'm about to glue onto the top half of the fuse.
It's a pretty straight forward construction process and the instructions
are excellent. I'll be covering it using Ultrakote, unlike the manufacturers
instructions which suggests paint. I've had bad luck with paint on foam,
so I've learned to hone my Ultrakoting skills.

Well, it's finally finished! It took a long time to cover all the curved
surfaces using Ultrakote, because I wanted it to be wrinkle-free.

I opted to just paint the canopy black because this will be kind of
a test version for me. I didn't want to get too detailed becuase I've
had bad luck with these pusher prop jets and wanted to make sure
it flew first.

Well, first flight was a real doozy! After using the entire runway to
take off, with a forced elevator pull at that, it flew around in a
complete stall the whole time. If I let go of the sticks at all, it
would climb straight up and stall out, spiraling toward the ground.
I managed to twist the plane around flat just before hitting the
ground, which happened to be a corn field. Not too bad of
damage considering it's all styro-foam. Once you take the corn stalk
out, and mount the main gear, and put the right fin back on, it's done.
I gutted the plane and gave it to our club President, Patrick Deuser
because the F15 is his favorite aircraft, and he has a way of making
anything fly.
