Helicopter pictures

My last Raptor...a Titan .50 with O.S. .50shx engine, Futaba GY-401 gyro, and Hitec servos.
I put on carbon blades, lightweight paddles, carbon tail fins, and some other small stuff.

The latest entry-level Raptor, the.30 Version II with updated Thunder Tiger .39 engine.  I
used an updated muffler with more output, header thank (of course), Futaba GY401 gyro w/9253
servo, JR 6102 radio with standard 537 servos, and R700 receiver with 1400mah battery pack.
I had an extra set of carbon fiber tail fins from one of the earlier Raptors, so I put them on.  Thunder Tiger
really did their homework with this new version.  They gave it some more power, beefed up critical weak spots,
and basically just tweaked everything a little bit, without raising the price that much.  I sold it to a neighbor who
just HAD to have it last Winter when it was getting too cold to fly, and the price was right, so I let him have it.
However, I really miss doing little flips and rolls in the back yard when I have spare time, so maybe Santa will
bring me one this year for Christmas :)

This was my second Raptor .30 V1 that I used for night flying.  Notice the MS Composite
carbon fiber blades with lights built in, and yellow and blue rope lighting on fuse and boom.
I used the stock TT-36 motor w/custom pipe, Futaba GY401 gyro w/9253 servo
on the tail, and Hitec 645's on the rest.  I got the decal set from Midland Helicopters.
The rest of the blue aluminum parts can be found at places

This was a Hirobo Bell 222 that I painted to look like the Airwolf.  It had
working retracts and was very cool in the air.  However, a major glitch in
the air put a stop to the Airwolf's adventures.

rappy1.jpg (42126 bytes)
This was my very first raptor, which I bought sometime in 2000.  I used the S-300 fuse
from Century-Heli and it fit nicely with few modifications.  I sold it to someone online
who just had to have it.

Here's my Raptor on the left and Kyle Walker's Raptor on the right.

Here I am hovering on the day before Thanksgiving, 2001 in a 20mph wind.

kyle_hover.jpg (74044 bytes)
Here is Kyle Walker hovering his new Raptor 30 ARF equipped
with a JR Radio and JR 550T gyro.  It flies incredibly well right
out of the box with no modifications.  This photo was taken around
the middle of October, 2001.

This is Chris Streitberger on the right flying his Raptor 30 with all carbon
upgrades.

chris2.JPG (24960 bytes)
Here is Chris again with his "night" Raptor getting ready to put on a show.
The carbon fiber main blades are from MS and have two red lights in each blade.
The blades have small thin batteries inside them and are charged with a little flush
plug that's recessed near the bladegrip.  The fuse lighting is also from MS and is
powered by a 9-volt battery.  There are lots of colors to choose from and they
can be cut to length.  If you'd like more information on the night flying kit, contact
Chris Streitberger in Kansas City:

...spooling up.

Liftoff!  It wasn't quite dark enough to get the full effect, but it was still cool.

This is Craig's (don't know last name yet) Raptor 30 hovering inverted.

This is Sebastian's (don't know last name yet) Excel Pro 2 tearing up the sky!
